5 Easy Ways to Save Money

Save Money

Saving money can become a fun challenge, especially when you experience fast results. The following money saving tips will allow you to save right away.

1. Maintain your home and car. By following your maintenance schedules, you can help prevent future problems with your home, appliances and car. It will cost you considerably less money to maintain and keep what you have instead of buying replacements.

2. Eat in more instead of dining out. Why not share a potluck dinner with friends and relatives where everyone brings their favorite dish? It’s not only fun and more rewarding eating with people you know, but you’ll save money and avoid going to a crowded restaurant.

3. Always create a shopping list. We can’t stress how important it is to go to the supermarket prepared with a list. On your list you should detail exactly what you need and wish to purchase. Then stick to your list, which will reduce impulse buying that drives your grocery bills up.

4. Buy a programmable thermostat. You can lower your energy bill by 10 to 20%, by installing a programmable thermostat. Let your heating and cooling work on your schedule. If you already have one, be careful with your temperature settings. In the winter, for each degree setting warmer than 68, or in the summer, for each degree setting colder than 78, you’ll experience a 1% increase in energy costs.
